WICHITA FALLS, Texas – The Colorado Mesa women's tennis season came to end Saturday (May 3) with a 5-0 loss at Midwestern State in the NCAA Regional.
The Mustangs started the match with a sweep of all three doubles matches.
The closest match came at No. 1 doubles where
Kaylee Davis and
Rachel McLaughlin lost to Kayla Casey and Taylor Coffman 8-5.
The No. 2 doubles team of
Shannen McNamara and
Kristyn Wykert fell 8-2.
Emily Dodson and
Katie Metz lost at No. 3 doubles 8-2.
Kayla Casey defeated
Kaylee Davis at No. 2 singles 6-2, 6-1.
Midwestern won the match with a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 6 singles by Paige Boykin over
Katie Kirby.
CMU was trailing in the four remaining singles matches.
Colorado Mesa finishes the season 17-9.
