Mavericks Go a Perfect 24-0 at Home

Box Score GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – Colorado Mesa made it a perfect 24-0 at home this season following a 13-4 win over the Colorado Christian Cougars on Sunday at Suplizio Field. This is the first season the Mavericks have gone undefeated at home in the program's history.
 
The Mavericks pounded out 19 hits on the afternoon and benefitted from five Cougar errors. Five of their 19 hits went for extra bases as well.
 
Austin Kaiser finished the game 4-for-5 with three runs scored and a run driven in. Kaiser hit his eighth home run of the season and his RMAC leading 20th double.
 
Third baseman Tony Audino also finished the game with four hits. Audino scored two runs and drove in five runs including an inside-the-park home run in the bottom of the second inning. He finished just a triple shy of the cycle.
 
Senior Kyle Davis got the start in the series finale. Davis went five innings and allowed three runs (two earned) on three hits, walked two and struck out two, earning his fifth win of the season. He improved to 5-0 on the season and 21-1 in his career.
 
Colorado Mesa has a three and a half game lead on New Mexico Highlands in RMAC standings. The Cowboys took three of four games from Adams State this weekend.
 
The Mavericks will travel to Denver next weekend for a series with the Regis Rangers.
