DENVER – The Colorado Mesa women's tennis team improved to a perfect 4-0 in league play after picking up wins over Montana State-Billings (9-0) and Metro State (7-2) Saturday (April 12). CMU is 14-8 overall on the year.
The Mavericks opened the day with a convincing 9-0 win over the Yellowjackets.
The closest match came at No. 2 singles where
Kaylee Davis won in three sets (4-6, 6-4, 10-7) over Madeline Loomis.
CMU posted another impressive win over Metro State.
Shannen McNamara won at No. 3 singles,
Rachel McLaughlin at No. 4,
Katie Kirby at No.5 and Emily Dobson at No. 6 all by identical scores of 6-0, 6-0.
Shannon McNamara and Krustyn Wykert won at No. 2 doubles 8-0, and
Emily Dodson and
Katie Metz took the win at No. 3 doubles 8-0.
Sunday's match at CSU-Pueblo was postponed due to the weather. The two teams will square off April 17 in Grand Junction.
