ST. GEORGE, Utah – The Colorado Mesa women's tennis team split a pair of matches in Utah Friday (March 7). Mesa opened the day with a 7-2 loss to Div. I Weber State and rebounded with a 7-2 win over Dixie State.
Junior
Kristyn Wykert won both of her singles matches. The Laramie, Wyo., native defeated Nittaya Phonharath of Weber State in three sets (6-4, 5-7, 10-6) and Laura Hartle of Dixie State 6-2, 6-3.
"Kristyn had a great day with two big singles wins," said head coach
Dan MacDonald. "She served great and had some great put aways at the net."

Katie Kirby picked up the other win for the Mavericks at No. 3 doubles defeating Michelle Warwick and Ashley Tanner of WSU 8-6.
Against Dixie, the Mavericks enjoyed singles wins by

Kristyn Wykert at No. 4,
Rachel McLaughlin at No. 5 and
Katie Kirby at No. 6.

The Mavericks will face Weber State in a rematch Saturday (March 8).
