ST. GEORGE, Utah – The Colorado Mesa women's tennis team came up one match shy of upsetting Div. I Weber State Saturday (March 8).
Weber State won a pair of close matches at No. 1 (8-7 (3)) and No. 2 doubles (8-7 (8)).
Katie Metz and
Emily Dodson won a close match at No. 3 doubles 8-6.
Kaylee Davis won at No. 1 singles for CMU after Agata Bachanek retired in the second set.
Ashley Tanner defeated
Natalie Martin at No. 2 singles 6-4, 6-2.
The final four singles matches all came down to three sets.
Rachel McLaughlin won at No. 4 (6-4, 2-6, 6-2), and
Katie Kirby won at No. 5 (4-6, 7-5, 10-4).
The tennis team will play several matches in Phoenix March 14-15.
