COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Colorado Mesa women's tennis team split its final two matches during its Spring Break trip. Colorado Mesa fell at No. 18 Midwestern State 9-0 and defeated Colorado College 7-2.
The Mavericks started the match at Colorado College with wins in all three doubles matches.
Kaylee Davis and
Rachel McLaughlin defeated Mary Edman and Maggie Harwood 8-6 at No. 1.
Shannen McNamara and
Kristyn Wykert earned an 8-2 decision at No. 2 doubles, and
Natalie Martin and
Katie Kirby also won 8-2 at No. 3 doubles.
The Mavericks won four singles matches against the Tigers.
Natalie Martin defeated Mary Edman at No. 1 singles 7-5, 6-3.
Shannen McNamara defeated Maggie Harwood 6-1, 6-0.
Other wins included
Kristyn Wykert at No. 5 singles, and
Katie Kirby at No. 6 singles.
Colorado Mesa will face Colorado Christian in Silver City, N.M. April 4.
