GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – The Colorado Mesa women's tennis team opened the 2014 spring season with three losses to Div. I opponents Feb. 7-9.
Wyoming knocked off Mesa 7-0. The Mavericks closest match came at No. 6 singles.
Emily Dodson lost to Alma Espinosa in three sets, 6-4, 3-6, 1-0 (10-4).
The following day Mesa lost at Northern Colorado 7-0. The closest match was at No. 5 singles where Laura Wehner defeated
Kristyn Wykert 6-4, 6-4.
The Mavericks closed the weekend with a 6-1 loss at Colorado State.
Rachel McLaughlin defeated Lauren Pick at No. 4 singles 6-2, 7-5.
Mesa will place a trio of matches in St George, Utah March 7-8. The Mavericks will face a pair of Div. I opponents in Weber State and Southern Utah and Div. II Dixie State.
