Colorado Mesa has owned the Colorado Christian Cougars since they started baseball in the 2006 season. The Mavericks have a 46-5 all-time record against the Cougars and are winners in nine of their past ten meetings.

SCOUTING THE COUGARS
Colorado Christian opened the season playing a pair of South Central region foes on the road in Texas. They opened with McMurry and went 1-2 before being swept by last season's region champion in St. Edward's. 
The Cougars were led at the plate by first baseman Dustin Conley who batted .348 with three runs driven in in the first seven games. Conley was one of five Cougars to play in and start every game thus far.
Freshman starter Austin Atkerson leads the Colorado Christian pitching staff. Atkerson has a 1-1 record and a 5.40 ERA in his two starts. He has allowed nine hits in 10 innings.

WALLY WORLD
Junior utility man Austin Wallingford delivered the big blow in the Mavericks 2-0 win over Northern Colorado. Wallingford hit his first career homerun to give the Mavericks the 2-0 advantage. Wallingford has made starts in both the outfield and at catcher this season.
WILSON!!!!!
After a shaky start in his first appearance with the Mavericks, junior lefty Nevin Wilson turned in a gem in his last start. Wilson pitched six innnings and allowed just three hits and struck out one to pick up his first win of the season. He was awarded the RMAC's Pitcher of the Week for his effort against the Division I Bears.
ROTATION
Colorado Mesa will go with Joey Danner and Nevin Wilson in games one and two. Then counter with Matt Delay and Kyle Davis in games three and four. Danner and Wilson will be making their third starts of the season while Delay will be making his first career start as a Maverick. Davis will be making his 26th start in a Maverick uniform and first since opening day.
KAISER ROLL
Senior outfielder Austin Kaiser led the Mavericks with a .538 batting average (7-for-13) against Northern Colorado and was awarded with the RMAC Player of the Week. Kaiser currently leads Colorado Mesa with a .462 batting average from the leadoff spot in the lineup.
ON DECK
The Mavericks will have their RMAC home opener next weekend on Saturday-Monday against Regis. The games are being played Saturday-Monday due to the Bill Fanning high school tournament at Suplizio Field.
