Colorado Mesa Stays in National Poll
Despite the Mavericks knocking off No. 12 ranked Colorado School of Mines in three sets, Colorado Mesa stayed at No. 20 in the AVCA Coaches Top-25 Poll. With their win over the Mavericks, MSU Denver moved to 22 in the polls. Colorado School of Mines dropped to a tie for thirteenth place.
Volleyball Getting it Done As A Team
As a team the Mavericks rank 6th in Div. II and third in the conference in assists per set with 13.81. They rank 27th nationally and second in the RMAC with 17.79 digs per set. With 14.63 kills per set, Colorado Mesa volleyball is sixth out of 275 ranked teams. Their .786 win percentage puts them at 38th nationally and third in the RMAC. The Mavs are ranked 15th in Div. II in team assists with 663. To wrap up all the categories in which the Mavericks are ranked in the top 30 in Div. II, Colorado Mesa has 702 kills to put them ranked 18th.
A Week in Review
Colorado Mesa opened up the road trip with a 3-2 loss to MSU Denver before beating Colorado School of Mines and Colorado Christian University in straight sets.
Setter of the Week for Moody
Moody receives her first RMAC Setter of the Week honor with her strong play against Metro, Mines and Colorado Christian this past weekend. Moody led the conference over the weekend with 12.75 assists per set. Moody had her two best three-set assists totals this season in the Mavericks wins over Mines and Colorado Christian.
Jordyn Moody is currently ranked fifth in Div. II in assists per set with 12.27. She is also ranked seventh nationally in total assists with 589.
When the Mavs Win...
In the eleven wins for the Mavericks this season, the Mavs have won in straight sets in every match except when they beat then No. 10 Southwest Minnesota State 3-1.
Mavericks in RMAC Rankings
Senior libero Tiffany Peterson ranks fourth in the RMAC in digs per set ( 4.71) and fifth in total digs (226).
Melissa Hess (.348),
Abby Ney (.333) and
Audrey Steinkirchner (.262) are ranked fourth,sixth and ninth respectively in hit percentage. Hess is also ninth in the conference in kills per set (3.38) and eighth in total kills (162).

A Look at the Thunderwolves
With a 3-3 conference record, the Thunderwolves sit at seventh in the RMAC. CSU-Pueblo opened conference play with a 3-2 win over UCCS before dropping three straight to MSU Denver, Colorado School of Mines and Regis University. They ride a two-game winning streak coming into their match with Colorado Mesa as they have beaten Black Hills State and Chadron State. The Mavericks are 53-19 all-time when facing the Thunderwolves, including a 3-1 win over CSU-Pueblo last season.
Scouting the Mountaineers
The Western State Mountaineers come into their conference match against the Mavs having not won a game all year (0-10). Of the 36 sets the Mountaineers have played over the season, they have only won six of them. The Mavericks are 56-15 when matching up against the Mountaineers. Colorado Mesa played Western State Colorado twice last year winning 3-0 both times.
