Mavericks Drop Dual Match to Dallas Baptist 7-2

Colorado Mesa fell to Dallas Baptist University 7-2 on Tuesday afternoon at the Elliott Tennis Center on the campus of Colorado Mesa University.

The Patriots won 2 of the 3 doubles matches to take a 2-1 lead heading into singles play. CMU's number 3 doubles team of Katie Metz and Emily Dodson won 8-1 over Alexa Mentesana and Leah Smith. The Mavs' number 1 and 2 doubles teams lost by the identical score of 8-4.

CMU won one of the six singles matches with Nicole Lessley defeating Mentesana 6-0, 6-1 for the lone singles point. The Patriots swept four of the five singles matches in straight sets.

Shannen McNamara fell to DBU's Katie Daugherty 3-6, 6-4, 2-6 at number two singles. Emily Dodson lost 7-5, 6-3 at number five.

CMU is coming off four matches in the last six days after playing in St. George, Utah at the Dixie State Duals this past weekend. The Mavericks fell to #12-ranked Cameron University on Sunday at home. Next up for the Mavericks is a dual at University of Northern Colorado on March 24.
