GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – The Colorado Mesa women's tennis team concluded the Fall season with a perfect 4-0 record after picking up a pair of wins over CSU-Pueblo (8-1) and Metro State (6-3).
In the first match of the day, the Mavericks won all three doubles matches against CSU-Pueblo.
Natalie Martin picked up wins for the Mavericks at both No. 1 doubles with teammate
Kaylee Davis and at No. 1 singles.
Shannon McNamara and
Kristyn Wykert won at No. 2 doubles with McNamara winning at No. 2 singles and Wykert at No. 4.
In the second match, the Holopainen sisters, Naomi and Wanda, of Metro State earned two set wins at No. 1 and No. 2 singles. Wanda would also win at No. 2 doubles with Cristina Oropeza.
CMU used its depth to win the match with wins at the bottom four singles matches and at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles.
The women's tennis team will return to action in the Spring.
