Colorado Mesa women's tennis team opened RMAC action on the road this weekend beating Colorado Christian 8-1. The Mavericks beat Colorado College on Sunday in a non-conference match-up 6-3 to go 2-0 on the weekend.
CMU took 5 of 6 singles matches and swept the doubles action versus the Cougars. The Mavs won all five singles matches in straight sets.
On Sunday versus Colorado College the Mavs swept all three doubles matches for a 3-0 lead heading in to singles action. The Tigers and Mavs battled each winning three matches each. The sweep of the doubles gave CMU the 6-3 dual victory.
Kaitlan Sera, Shannen McNamara and Kristyn Wykert each won singles at number three through five singles respectively. Kaitlan teamed with sister Kelleen Sera at number one doubles for an 8-5 win. Kaylee Davis and McNamara won at number two doubles and Skyler Nelson and Wykert easily defeated CC's number three doubles team.
CMU will host Hope International (Calif) on Wednesday at 3:30 pm.
