Mavs wrap-up spring trip with four victories

 

Colorado Mesa women's tennis team posted a 4-3 record on the annual spring break trip to Arizona and California. CMU defeated Division II and regional foes; St. Cloud State University and Winona State. The Mavericks posted a 9-0 sweep over St. Cloud and beat Winona 6-3. CMU beat Glendale Community College and Mesa Community College, sweeping each 9-0.

CMU fell to Grand Canyon University 9-0 to open the trip. CMU closed out the week-long trip in Azusa, Calif., falling to NAIA national powers; Lewis & Clark State College (ID) and Azusa Pacific University.

Shannen McNamara went 5-2 overall in singles and 4-3 in doubles play. McNamara plays number four singles and teams with Kaylee Davis at number two doubles.

All-Conference performers; Kelleen Sera and Kaitlan Sera went 4-3 at number one doubles and posted three victories each at number one and two singles respectively.

CMU will open RMAC action this weekend as they travel to Lakewood, CO. for a match-up with Colorado Christian. The Mavericks will play regional opponent Upper Iowa on Saturday and close out with non-conference, Colorado College on Sunday morning.
