Men's Soccer Preview - Adams State & UCCS

After picking up a monumental victory on Wednesday, the Mavericks will have to lock in for two more road matches to finish their in season road swing. On Friday, they will have a matchup with the Adams State Grizzlies then on Sunday they will have a showdown with Colorado-Colorado Springs. Here is a quick preview for both matchups.

Last Week for the Grizzlies: The Grizzlies dropped a pair of matches last weekend. They fell to nationally ranked and RMAC leader Regis 5-0 in Denver. Then on Sunday they played a South Central Region match with Midwestern State and fell 3-0.

RMAC Standings: Adams State is in 8th place in the RMAC with three points but trail CSU-Pueblo by just a lone point for the 7th position.

Grizzly to Watch: Forward Jake Hughes (Jr., London, England) is the Grizzlies leading scorer with a goal and an assist. His lone goal of the season came in a 2-1 win over Colorado Christian.

Last Week for the Mountain Lions: UCCS went 2-0 last weekend. They knocked off Colorado Mines 1-0 at home before heading South to Pueblo and beating the ThunderWolves 2-1.

RMAC Standings: The Mountain Lions are in a three-way tie for second place in the RMAC with Colorado Mesa and Metro State.

Mountain Lion to Watch:
Goalkeeper Brandon Costa (Sr., Folly Beach, S.C.) and the Mountain Lion defense could be the biggest key in the match. Costa ranks fifth in the RMAC in both Saves (43) and Save percentage (.754). He made a season high seven saves in the 1-0 win over Colorado Mines last weekend.
