Mesa State defeated Metro State 5-4 in RMAC action Friday afternoon in Silver City, NM. Senior Kate Lowder won the decisive match 6-3, 7-6 (8-6) at number four singles. MSC won four of the six singles matches to overcome a 1-2 deficit following doubles action.

Kelleen Sera and Kaitlan Sera defeated Metro's number two doubles team 8-2 for the lone doubles point. The duo each won their singles matches; Kelleen (#1) and Kaitlan (#3) each won in straight sets. Number two singles player Victoria Sargent won in three sets.

Saturday morning the Mavs defeated host Western New Mexico 8-1 to close out the weekend sweep. MSC allowed just six games in the doubles action and won three of the six singles matches in straight sets. Kaitlan Sera and Kate Lowder each won third set super tie-breaks at number three and four singles respectively.

MSC will travel to Pueblo for three league matches beginning Friday versus CSU-Pueblo. Saturday the Mavs will face Neb.-Kearney and Montana State Billings.
