MSC (5-3) volleyball swept Quincy and Newman 3-0 Saturday at the UNK Fall Classic in Kearney, NE. A day after upsetting host Nebraska-Kearney in five sets the Mavericks rolled over Quincy (25-17, 25-22, 25-16) and Newman (25-21, 25-20, 25-18) to finish 3-1 in the fall tournament.

Tara King and Meagan Bosch were named All-Tournament Team with King earning Most Valuable Player honors.

King averaged 10.40 assists per game and 3.13 digs. She posted two double-doubles in the tournament with 39 assists and 17 digs against St. Cloud State and tallied 50 assists and 17 digs in the 5-set win over #7-ranked Nebraska-Kearney.

Bosch posted a game high 12 kills in each match and combined for 13 digs, five blocks and two service aces. Bosch hit an individual season high .500 in the 3-set win over Newman. She posted 12 kills, 1 error in 22 attempts.

Whitney Howard continued her outstanding play Saturday with 17 digs and three service aces. Howard averaged 4.0 digs per game.

The Mavericks open Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference action on the road beginning this Thursday with three matches in three days. Thursday MSC will play at Metro State, Regis University on Friday and Colorado Christian on Saturday.
