The Mesa State Mavericks pounded out 70 hits and scored 58 runs in a weekend sweep of the Colorado Christian Cougars. This was the final regular season weekend for both teams. Mesa State will enter the RMAC Tournament on Wednesday and will take on the Roadrunners of Metro State. Colorado Christian did not qualify.
In Game One, Mesa State scored 27 runs on 30 hits to win their 30th game of the season, 27-1. It is the seventh consecutive season the Mavericks have recorded 30 wins.

Jeff Popick hit his 8th homerun of the season, a 3-run homer in the 1st inning.

Chris Shea won his 8th game of the season going 7.0 innings allowing 2 hits and striking out 8.
In Saturday's day game, the Mavericks scored 6 runs in the seventh inning to fend off a late Cougar rally and win 19-10.
Kyle Davis pitched into the 6th inning to run his record to a perfect 7-0 in the regular season.

Brett Nigbur each collected 4 hits and 3 RBI's in the game. Junior

Brett Nigbur each homered for the Mavericks as well.
In the nightcap,
Dylan Evans pitched 6 strong innings to pace the Mavericks to a 12-4 victory and the season sweep of the Cougars. Sophomore
Chase Moore gave the Mavericks an offensive spark, going 3-for-4 and his 8th homerun of the season.
The Mavericks are now off to the RMAC Tournament hosted by the Nebraska-Kearney Lopers. The Mavericks will play the Metro State Roadrunners at 10:00am mountain time on Wednesday. KEXO 1230 will carry the game with a pregame show slated for 9:45am.
