MSC women's tennis improved to 13-7 overall and 4-1 in RMAC play defeating Metro State 6-3 Saturday afternoon on the campus of Mesa State College.
MSC took 2 of 3 doubles matches to start the dual with victories by Kelleen and Kaitlan Sera at #2 doubles (8-4) and Amber Armendarez and Cyndle Curfman at #3 doubles (8-6).
Kelleen and Kaitlan pushed the Mavs lead to 4-2 with singles victories at #2 and #4 singles respectively. Kelleen won 6-1, 6-0 over April Hirad. Kaitlan defeated Marianne Evangelista 6-2, 6-3.
Victoria Sargent clinched the dual victory for the second straight day in a 7-6 (4), 6-4 win over Nicole Hermann at #3 singles. Amber Armendarez tallied the Mavs other victory at #5 singles, 6-3, 6-3 over Kathleen Thompson at #5 singles.
MSC will play Colorado Christian in a re-scheduled match Thursday, April 22 prior to the start of the RMAC Championships, April 23-24 in Albuquerque, N.M.
