#23-ranked Mesa State Mavericks (22-4, 16-3) wrapped up RMAC regular season play Saturday night with an 83-75 win over visiting New Mexico Highlands (18-9, 12-7).
Mesa men will enter the RMAC post season tournament as the No. 1 overall seed and host CSU-Pueblo Tuesday a t 7 p.m. at Brownson Arena.
NMHU saw a 10 point first half lead (39-29) at the 4:46 mark disappear with a 15-5 Maverick run to close out the half tied at 44.
The second half had seven lead changes with the largest lead coming at 8:31 remaining in regulation with a 68-60 MSC lead. Highlands ran off 10 straight points for a 70-68 advantage with 5:16 left.
At 3:02 MSC tied the game for the 13th time (71-71). Down the stretch the Mavericks went 12 for 14 from the foul line and a 12-4 spurt to seal their 22nd victory of the season.
Mike Dominguez led all players with 26 points going 6 of 13 from the floor and 10 of 10 from the free throw line.
Jase Herl finished with 19 points and six rebounds. Lance Fite pulled grabbed a game high 10 rebounds, and added six points.
Justin Ashbaugh was perfect from the floor (3-3) and from the foul line (3-3) for nine points and pulled down six rebounds.
The Cowboys were led by Chop Tang's 17 points and six rebounds.
MSC will host CSU-P on Tuesday night in the first round of the RMAC Shootout Tournament at 7 p.m. at Brownson Arena.
