WOMEN

Mesa State women's swim team defeated Adams State College (307-53) and fell to Division I Northern Colorado (216-155). MSC had several first place finishes and competed with its Division I foe.

Gina Panacci won the 500-yard freestyle, setting a meet record in a time of 5:22.51. She had a second place finish in the 400-yard freestyle relay (Kelly Hogan, Katie Wedel, Jaclyn McMillen) in a time of 3:44.94.

Katie Wedel won the 200-yard butterfly setting a meet record with a time of 2:16.41 and took first in the 1650 freestyle (18:29.37), another meet record. She set a team record with a second place finish in the 400-yard IM (4:41.69). Wedel was third in the 200-yard IM and second in the 200-yard medley relay (Jaclyn McMillen, Taylor Nagy, Allison Freund).

Kelly Hogan won the 200 freestyle setting a meet record in a time of 1:59.48 and set a meet record with a first place finish in the 100 freestyle (55.60). She holds the team record in the 200 free, set last February (1:55.48). MSC finished 1-2-3 in the event; Allison Freund and Gina Pacacci finished second and third respectively.

MSC will travel to University of Wyoming Friday and compete at the DU Relays Saturday in Denver.

MEN

Mesa State men's swimming and diving team hosted Division I Air Force Academy and the University of Utah and RMAC foe Adams State College Friday and Saturday at the El Pomar Natatorium.

Mesa State diver Brock Martin finished third in the 1-meter and 3-meter competition.

Andy Gibbons placed third in the 200-breaststroke in a time of 59.82.

Alejandro Hernandez placed fourth in the 400-yard IM (4:17.33) setting a team record in the event. He finished seventh in the 200 butterfly (1:59.21) and 200 IM (2:02.13).

MSC will travel to University of Wyoming Friday and compete at the DU Relays Saturday in Denver.
