Belmont Abbey ended Mesa State's bid to become National Champions late Wednesday evening. Belmont Abbey avenged a first round loss to the Mavericks, beating them 9-2 to make the final four. Mesa State's season ends with a 44-15 record and they finish as one of the top six teams in the country.
This season will go down as one of the best in the schools history. The Mavericks set numerous school records including qualifying for their first NCAA Division II World Series.
Matt Bodenchuk was named ABCA/Rawlings first team All-American for the second time in his career. He won his other All-American Award in 2007. Bodenchuk was also named first team All-American by Daktronics, which is voted on by the sports information directors from around the country.

Kevin Becker was named second team All-American by Daktronics also.
Mesa State will say goodbye to 16 seniors this season.
