Mesa State women's tennis team clinched the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference regular season title with a 6-3 win over Metro State Saturday morning in Denver.
The Mavericks improved to 16-3 overall and a perfect 7-0 in league play.
MSC swept all three doubles matches to take a 3-0 lead heading in to singles action. MSC's No. 1 team of Kate Lowder and Victoria Sargent won 8-6 and No. 3 team of Renee Demianew and Mandie Divino won a tiebreak. The Sera sisters won 8-5 at No. 2.
The Roadrunners and Mavericks split the six singles matches with MSC winning at No. 1, 4 and 5. No. 1 player Lowder, No. 4 Kaitlan Sera and No. 5 Kelleen Sera each won in straight sets.
Kelleen finished the weekend undefeated in singles and doubles (8-0 overall). Kaitlan went 3-1 in singles and 4-0 in doubles.
MSC will play Colorado Christian in a make-up match Thursday, April 23 in Lakewood. CCU will host the RMAC Tournament beginning Friday, April 24-25. MSC enters the tournament as the number one seed.
