Indoor Career Synopsis: Played in a variety of positions, helping the Mavs to four straight NCAA Tournament appearances and four consecutive 20-win campaigns after playing on the Mavs’ 2021 Spring Season squad that won the RMAC title while posting a 15-1 overall record… Finished her career with 422 digs… Earned four straight RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll spots.
2024 (Redshirt Senior): RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll selection for the fourth straight year… Played in all 29 matches and 94 total sets… Made one start in the back row against South Dakota Mines (Nov. 16)… Was mostly used as a serving and defensive specialist… Also touted as the Mavs’ back-up setter, a role that she was not often needed in throughout her career… Played as the team’s second outside hitter in an Oct. 5 win over Western Colorado, recording a career-high six kills on 21 swings against the Mountaineers… Tallied 136 digs (1.45), recording a season-high 14 in the regular season finale at South Dakota Mines… Also had 11 in an Oct. 19 win at Regis, CMU’s first road win over the Rangers in 15 years… Finished third on the team with 23 service aces (0.22/set), registering a season-high four in an RMAC Tournament quarterfinal win over Westminster (Nov. 19)… Finished the year with 21 assists.
2023 (Redshirt Junior): Played in all 29 matches and 101 of the Mavs’ sets… Made 12 official starts at the defensive specialist position, regularly checking in and out for back row duties in tandem with starting right side hitter Emma Shaddix… Finished fourth on the team with 211 digs (2.09/set)… Was also third on the team with 24 service aces (0.24/set)…. Reached double-figures for digs in five total matches, including a streak of four straight from Oct. 6-Oct. 14 , part of an 8-match CMU winning streak… Tallied a career-high 19 in a win over nationally-ranked Regis (Oct. 4)… Had 14 the night before in a win over UCCS… Had a career-high five service aces on Oct. 6 at CSU Pueblo before tallying four more at Adams State on the following day… Also had 11 and 12 digs in those respective matches… Recorded 12 digs in the RMAC Tournament semifinals against Regis (Nov. 17)… Named to the RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll.
2022 (Redshirt Sophomore): Played in 23 matches and 59 sets as a serving and defensive specialist and reserve setter… Made one start… Finished with 60 digs (1.02/set), 31 assists (0.53/set) and four aces… Had a season-high 11 digs in the regular season finale at Regis (Nov. 11)… Had a season-high six assists at Fort Lewis (Oct. 22)… Started in the NCAA Tournament win over Dallas Baptist… RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll selection.
Fall 2021 (Redshirt Freshman): Played in 16 matches and 32 total sets as a reserve setter and serving specialist… Recorded 27 assists and 10 digs… Had a season-high six assists on Oct. 2 at Colorado Christian… Named to the RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll.
Spring 2021 (Freshman): Played in 13 matches and 26 total sets, mostly as a late-set serving specialist… Also saw some time at the setter position… Recorded 17 assists, five digs and four aces… Had 11 assists in a Feb. 12 3-set victory over Colorado Christian.
Prep: Named as the 2018-19 and 2019-20 Gatorade Player of the Year while playing for Coach Kim Lauwers and the Dimond HS Lynx.
Club: Played for Coach Morgan Hooe and the Midnight Sun Volleyball Club.
Personal: Plans to major in exercise science with aspirations of becoming a physical therapist after obtaining the necessary schooling and certifications… Daughter of Michael and Erica Johnson… Siblings are Clay and Eva… Enjoys playing Spikeball, almost as much as volleyball… Also enjoys hiking, biking and playing music with friends.
