Russ Spotts is in his third season as an assistant coach for the Maverick volleyball program.
In the spring of 2021, he helped the Mavericks win the RMAC Regular Season title. The Mavs then went 21-7 and qualified for the NCAA Tournament in the fall of 2021.
After retiring in 2014, Spotts settled in Grand Junction and began attending sporting events at CMU, where he has also taken classes through a non-degree program since 2016, which he continues to enjoy.
Prior to his retirement, he was involved with coaching youth soccer and softball for 25-plus years and continues to enjoy a variety of physical activities.
