2022-23 Indoor (Redshirt Freshman): Competed in two meets… Posted a 5K time of 19:17.75 at the Mines Winter Classic to rank eighth in program history… Had run the 3K in 11:40.09 at the Western Colorado Open… Named to the RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll.
2022 Outdoor (Freshman): Redshirt season… Competed unattached in each of the Mavs’ three home meets… Ran a season-best 5K time of 19:12.63 before running to a time of 5:12.97 in the 1,500 meters, good for second place at the Maverick Top Gun Last Chance Meet.
2021-22 Indoor (Freshman): Redshirt season… Competed unattached in two meets… Posted a 5K time of 21:04.79 at the Mountaineer Open & Multi and a mile time of 5:57.55 at the WCU Alumni Open.
Prep: 2021 graduate of Salem Hills High School… Ran for the Skyhawks coached by Jen Hughes… Finished 19
th at the 5A Cross Country State Championships after turning in a time of 19:04 at the Region 8 Championships, where she placed 13th… Had a PR of 18:55.50 earlier in the year… Had track PRs of 5:39 (1600) and 12:10 (3200) during her 2021 senior season… Was a 4-year honor roll selection with a 3.9 GPA.
Personal: Is majoring in radiology… Daughter of Linda and Sam Maestas… Has twin siblings— Sam and Alayna… Plans to go to PA or medical school after completing her bachelor’s degree… Enjoys hiking, making jewelry and fashion… Also loves to travel and has a goal to run a 5K in every state.
Why I Chose CMU: “I chose CMU because of the radiology program and incredible XC/Track team! The whole team has been so kind and has motivated me to give my all. Another thing I love is being in nature so, Grand Junction and CMU are perfect for me.”
