As a Freshman (2024-25): Was not on the Mavs' cross country roster, but redshirted on the Mavs' track & field team during the 2024-25 academic year.
Prep: 2024 graduate of Bakersfield High School… Coached by Jose Orozco… Served as the Drillers’ team captain for cross country from 2021-23 and for track and field from 2023-24… Earned the track & field team’s most dedicated award in 2023 and 2024 and was an all-area pick as a junior in 2023… Won the 400-meter title at the South Yosemite Valley League Championships with a PR time of 59.95 while taking third in the 800… Had a season-best 800 time of 2:19.87 to place fourth at the APU Meet of Champions… Set a PR of 2:17.07 to take second at the CIF Central Section Masters Championships as a junior… Took tenth at the SYVL Cross Country Championships in the fall while also qualifying for the CIF Central Section and State Championships… Was the Drillers’ most inspirational runner in 2023 and the team MVP in 2022 and 2023.
Personal: Is majoring in nursing and aspires to work in the medical field… Daughter of Hilary and Stephen Varner.
