2024 (Senior): Voted to the RMAC All-Academic First Team… Played in all 17 games, making three starts… Scored 15 goals while recording 17 assists… Had 32 offensive points… Took 48 shots, including 28 on goal… Registered 11 groundballs and four caused turnovers… Had two 4-goal games against Dominican (Feb. 23) and CUI (Apr 5) in two of those starts… Had a career-high six points with two goals and four assists in the Apr. 19 win at Adams State.
2023 (Junior): Earned First Team All-RMAC honors at attack… Played in all 18 games, making two starts… Scored 16 goals while assisting on ten to finish with 26 total points… Was seventh on the team for both goals and assists… Finished eighth in points… Took 51 total shots, 30 of which were on goal… Claimed 17 ground balls and five caused turnovers… Had five multiple-goal games, scoring two in each… Had three 2-assist outings… Had a career-high four points (2G, 2A) in a Apr. 1 RMAC win over Westminster… Scored in in both games of the RMAC Tournament.
2022 (Sophomore @ Howard CC): Was second on the Howard Community College team in both goals (30) and assists (25) while earning honorable mention All-Region 20 honors for the Dragons… Was ranked fifth in the Maryland Junior College Athletic Conference for goals, third for assists and fourth for points (55)... Helped lead the team to an 11-4 overall record and a trip to the NJCAA National Title game… Took 93 shots, including 51 of which were on frame… Had two man-up goals, a game-winning tally… Also scooped up 25 ground balls and caused ten turnovers… Scored at least one goal in ever game, tallying four hat-tricks… Had a season-high five goals on Apr. 23 against Delaware Tech… Had a 7-point (4G, 3A) effort against Carroll Community College (Apr. 13).
2021 (Freshman @ Howard CC): Played in five of the Dragons’ seven games during a pandemic-effected season… Scored six goals while assisting on two others… Took 22 shots, 13 of which were on goal… Had one man-up goal, six ground balls and a caused turnover.
Prep: 2020 graduate of Eagle Valley High School... Was a 3-year first team all-conference honoree from 2017-19... Earned honorable mention all-state honors in 2019 before his 2020 campaign was canceled.
Personal: Is majoring in entrepreneurship… Aspires to run a successful business in the future and is looking to gain the knowledge from school to make it in the competitive world… Son of Jeff & Tina Petersen... Brother Erich is also on the Mavs’ team… Other brothers are Julius and Christian... Is a big fan of the outdoors and spending time skiing, biking and hiking outside of lacrosse and school.
Why I Chose CMU: “It was the perfect fit for me. Being somewhat close to home and the mountains was just right. I love the outdoors and CMU gives such a great opportunity for this. Lacrosse here was the icing on the cake and I am very thankful for the winning mindset and culture it brings."
