2022 (Redshirt Sophomore): Started four games while playing in six in net… Won in each of his starts... Recorded a 6.98 goals against average and a team-best .569 save percentage… Made 41 saves while allowing just 31 goals in 266:34 worth of net time… Faced 126 total shots… Made a career-high 17 saves in a Mar. 25 win over Flagler… Went the distance in Apr. 14 and Apr. 16 wins over Quincy and Rockhurst, allowing just nine total goals while making 12 saves in that road trip… Also tallied six ground balls and two caused turnovers.
2021 (Redshirt Freshman): Played in nine games, making seven starts in goal… Was a Second Team All-RMAC selection… Posted a 7-1 record and 6.79 goals against average, the best in the RMAC and the second best single-season average in program history… Also recorded a save percentage of .640 to lead the conference… That mark is also the second best in Maverick history… Made 57 saves, while allowing just 32 goals in 282:52 worth of net time… Averaged 6.33 saves per game… Went the distance in two games… Made a season-high 13 saves in a 9-8 win over Alabama-Huntsville, the first of his two complete games… Also made 11 saves in his next outing against Colorado College, a 13-12 Maverick overtime win… Was named as the RMAC Defensive Player of the Week on May 3 after allowing just four goals while making eight saves in three quarters of a 16-7 win over Westminster on Apr. 30… Finished the season with 20 ground balls and two caused turnovers… Had nine ground balls in the Apr. 2 win at Westminster and another six in the home win over the Griffins on Apr. 30… Selected to the RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll.
2020 (Freshman): Played the first half in net for the Mavs in their 17-3 win at Shorter (Ga.) on Feb. 10, his lone appearance of the pandemic shortened season… Made one save while earning the win.
Prep: Was a 3-time (2017-19) all-state and 3-time All-Circle City Conference (2017-19) player while at Roncalli High School… Was a high school all-American in 2019… Graduated in 2019 as the career save leader and save percentage leader.
Personal: Is majoring in finance… Wants to join the military after college and then eventually become a police officer… Son of Mike and Kristen Hoffman… Has a sister— Olivia, who plays softball at Marian University… Enjoys hiking, fishing, camping and a nice game of chess.
