2023 (Redshirt Junior): Was named as the RMAC Co-Defensive Player of the Year… Also picked up a third consecutive First Team All-RMAC honor… Tallied 24 caused turnovers to lead the RMAC… That total is also the fourth best in program history… Also led the conference with his 1.33 per game average… Played in all 18 games and was an official starter in ten… Also finished with 31 ground balls… Scooped up a career-high seven ground balls in an Apr. 1 win over Westminster… Named as RMAC Defensive Player of the Week two days later on Apr. 3... Also had four caused turnovers in that game before matching that season and career-high total on Apr. 28 against CSU Pueblo… Scored two goals while recording two other assists… Took four shots throughout the season, three of which were on goal.
2022 (Redshirt Sophomore): Earned Team All-RMAC honors at the long stick midfielder position for the second straight year… Played in all 18 games, making 14 starts… Tallied 36 ground balls and led the RMAC with 23 caused turnovers, equal to the fourth most in CMU single-season history… Also led the conference with his 1.28 caused turnover per game average… Scored his lone goal at Flagler (Mar. 25)… Also had one of his five assists in that game… Had at least one ground ball in 17 games… Tallied four at Rockhurst (Apr. 16) and in the RMAC Tournament semifinals against CSU Pueblo (May 6)… Tallied a season-high three caused turnovers in the Feb. 9 season-opening victory over UAH.
2021 (Redshirt Freshman):: Named to the First Team All-RMAC squad at the long stick midfielder position… Also earned RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll plaudits… Played in nine games, making seven starts… Finished with 26 ground balls and seven caused turnovers… Also had three assists, helping on goals during both of the Mavs’ RMAC Tournament games… Had a season-high five ground balls in the season-opener at Mount Olive (Mar. 10).
2020 (Freshman): Played in all seven games of the pandemic-abbreviated season, making five starts… Was tied for the team lead with eight caused turnovers… Was tied for second in the RMAC with that total... Was tied for sixth with his per game average of 1.14... Also scooped up 19 ground balls, the fifth highest total in the conference… Had five ground balls in each of the Mavs’ first two games against Embry-Riddle (Feb. 6) and Saint Leo (Feb. 8).
Prep: 2019 graduate of Dakota Ridge High School, where he was a multi-sport stand-out… Named the school’s Male Athlete of the Year as both a junior in the 2017-18 and 2018-19 academic years… Was a two-time first team all-conference long stick midfielder (2017, 2019)… Also earned second team all-state honors in 2018… Was a second team all-conference face-off man in 2017 as well… Earned first team all-state honors as a defenseman in hockey during his 2019 senior season, helping the team to a state runner-up finish… Was a second team all-state pick as a junior in 2018 and a first team all-conference selection as a sophomore in 2017… Was a first team all-conference striker on the Eagles’ soccer squad as a senior in the fall of 2018.
Personal: Is majoring in biology… Hopes to become a chiropractor and own a practice… Son of Greg and Shea Eickelman… Twin brother Drew is also on the Maverick squad… Enjoys lacrosse, travel and fishing.
Why I Chose CMU: “This school was the best fit for me as it was in the same state I was raised. It offered the correct classes I wanted to take, and the lacrosse program is a spectacular program that offered both me and my twin brother and opportunity to play.
