Troy Moyer

The 2025 season will be Troy Moyer’s third as Colorado Mesa University Head Men’s Lacrosse Coach and is his the seventh on the Mavericks’ coaching staff.
 
He was promoted to the head role in the fall of 2022 after a brief stint as the interim head coach following the departure of former Maverick head coach Vince Smith, who left the position for other opportunities outside of coaching.
 
Moyer originally been hired on to Smith’s staff as an assistant coach for the 2018-19 season.
 
In his two seasons as the head coach, Moyer has guided the Mavericks to a combined 29-6 record, including a 13-1 record in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference games and a perfect 12-0 record at home.

They have won both the RMAC Regular Season and Tournament titles in both seasons.
 
In his overall time with the Mavericks, Moyer has helped the Mavs win four RMAC Regular Season Championships and three tournament titles.  The teams have gone a combined 69-20 in his six previous seasons with the program.
 
Prior to his time at Colorado Mesa, Moyer was an assistant coach at Muhlenberg College, where he worked with the team in all facets of play and oversaw the team’s recruiting. He also worked as an assistant strength and conditioning coach.  
  
Prior to coaching, Moyer was a student-athlete at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Connecticut, where he played Division I lacrosse in the competitive Northeast Conference. 
  
Moyer graduated from SHU in 2015 with a bachelor’s of science in exercise science, focusing on strength and conditioning.
 
A Boyertown, Pennsylvania native, Moyer played under Dave Lamont at Boyertown High School, where he earned varsity letters all four years and was team captain his senior year.  He remains the school’s only boys’ lacrosse player to play Division I lacrosse.
