Franc Cook

Franc enters his fourth year on the CMU coaching staff. Moving to Grand Junction from Philadelphia, Franc was previously the assistant coach at Arcadia University in Glenside, Pennsylvania. Franc was responsible for implementing defensive strategies for the Knights, while also playing a key role in the recruiting efforts, academic monitoring, as well as fundraising for the start up program.

His knowledge of the game comes partly from a four year playing career at Lynchburg College in Virginia. With Franc in the cage, the Hornets went 50-15, winning the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Championship his senior year. Being a four time All-ODAC selection for the Hornets, Franc was honored as a two time USILA All-American as well as Scholar All-American. After his senior season, Franc and a few of his teammates represented Lynchburg College on the South team in the USILA North-South Game in Boston, Massachusetts. His love for coaching and growing the sport of lacrosse comes from playing for two of the games most decorated coaches in Steve Koudelka at Lynchburg College and Mark D'Ambrogi at Cape Henlopen High School.
After college, he boosted his coaching expertise while working under a few of the game’s best coaches in Drew Delaney; head coach at Elizabethtown College, and Jim Stagnitta; assistant coach at the University of Pennsylvania. Cook also worked with the LB3's Phillie Elite and South Jersey Shamrock's club lacrosse programs.

Cook will work with the goalies and defenders, creating defensive strategies that will help the Mavericks lacrosse program. Cook will also focus his efforts on the academic progress of the Mavericks team and recruiting future quality Mavericks.

Franc is the son of Dan and Sherri Cook, both teachers at Cape Henlopen High school. His younger brother James graduates from Lynchburg College in the spring of 2015.  He also leaves behind his seven dogs at his home in Milton, Delaware. Franc graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Lynchburg College and will start graduate school at CMU this spring.
