Nick Fulton

Nick Fulton enters his first season as the offensive coordinator for the Mavericks. Fulton makes his way to Grand Junction after serving as the Offensive Coordinator and Quarterbacks coach at the University of Northern Colorado (UNC). Prior to his time at UNC, he held the same role at RMAC rival, Colorado School of Mines.

At Colorado School of Mines, Fulton guided one of the top offenses in all of Division II. He was a three-time FootballScoop.com Coordinator of the Year finalist (2015, 2016, and 2018) and helped CSM to the top offense in Division II in both 2016 and 2018.

Fulton's offensive philosophy is not mostly run or passed based, but balanced. In 2018 under Fulton, Mines had the no. 2 ranked passing offense and 22nd ranked rushing offense. With the balanced attack, he coached a pair of Harlon Hill Trophy (top DII player) nominees in running back Cameron Mayberry in 2018 and quarterback Justin Dvorak in 2016. Dvorak won the award in 2016 when he led the nation in passing yards for the second straight season.

Before arriving at Colorado School of Mines, Fulton was the offensive coordinator at Black Hills State from 2012-2015. He started his coaching career at his alma mater at the University of Sioux Falls in 2005 where he worked with the offensive line. After Sioux Falls he went on to Doane College (2006-11) as the offensive line and tight ends coach and Wyoming (2011-12) as an offensive GA.

Fulton completed his bachelor's degree in communications at Sioux Falls in 2003, following an outstanding college career as an offensive lineman. He earned All-Conference and honorable mention All-America honors and played on three conference championship teams from 2001-03, including the NAIA National Runner-up in 2001.

Fulton and his wife, Becki, were married in December of 2014.
