Gothard Lane enters his fourth year on the Colorado Mesa University staff, primarily on the defensive side of the ball.
Lane has over 45 years of collegiate experience as a coach and athletic administrator.
During his coaching career, Lane has worked on both sides of the line of scrimmage including running backs, quarterbacks, defensive backs, defensive ends, defensive line and linebackers.
Lane coached at Virginia Tech, Tulane and Maryland. While at Maryland, Lane had the honor to coach in the Peach, Liberty, Gator, Cotton, Sun and Citrus Bowls.
In 1971, Lane earned his bachelor’s degree in English Literature from Randolph Macon College.
Lane and his wife, Mary Lou, have been married for 38 years and reside in Grand Lake, Colorado.
