Biography

2016: All-RMAC honorable mention...Played in 12 games starting 11 at quarterback...Completed 176-of-296 passes for 2,224 yards...Threw 11 touchdown passes and 10 interceptions...Ran 105 times for 346 yards (3.3 ypc) and three touchdowns...Threw for a season-high 396 yards in win over Chadron State...Threw a season-high three touchdown passes in win at Colorado Mines. 

2015: Named the team’s offensive player of the year...Started the first 10 games at quarterback before suffering a season-ending injury...Completed 95-of-174 passes for 1,479 yards...Threw 15 touchdown passes and only three interceptions...Rushed for 411 yards and three touchdowns...Threw for a season-high 343 yards against Black Hills State...Ran for a season-high 114 yards against Fort Lewis.

At Northern Colorado: 2014: Played in 10 games...Completed 54-of-93 passes for 617 yards with four touchdowns and two interceptions...Rushed for 107 yards and three touchdowns...2013: Played in four games, throwing for 27 yards on four completed passes...Rushed eight times for 59 yards...Recorded a perfect passing completion of 100% while throwing three for three and gaining 28 yards...2012: Reshirted...Named the scout team offensive MVP.

High School: Awarded the Golden Helmet by the Denver Post as Colorado’s top football player, scholar and citizen... Helped lead the Tigers to a 21-3 record in his final two seasons... As a senior, guided the Tigers’ offense to a state-best 482.7 yards/game... In his final campaign, threw for 1,229 and 16 touchdowns, while rushing for 1,220 yards and 11 touchdowns... Named to the Southwestern All-Conference team three years, as well as the offensive MVP twice... Also named to the Denver Post All-State and All-Colorado team his final two years... Becomes the third quarterback from the Western Slope to join the Bears in the past 20 years (Tom Beck, GJHS, 1992-96; Jon Boyer, PHS, 2000-01)... Started all four years on varsity.

Personal: Is the oldest of three children of Matt and Beth Rubalcaba... Born June 1 in Grand Junction... Pursuing a degree in business finance.
