As a Redshirt Sophomore (2008): RMAC All-Academic 2nd Team…Played in 11 games…Recorded 76 total tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, and an interception…Best game was against Adams State (10/25/09) where he recorded 14 total tackles and one tackle for loss.

As a Sophomore (2007): Played in one game…Had five tackles…Received a medical redshirt due to a knee injury.
As a Redshirt Freshman (2006): Letterwinner…RMAC All-Academic Team…Had 20 tackles on the season…Recovered one fumble…played in nine games.
Douglas County High School: Three-year letterwinner in football…League Champion…First Team All-Conference…Second Team All-Conference…Power lifting and body building.
Personal: Majoring in Kinesiology…Son of John and Jody Newton…Chose MSC for its location and coaching staff…Goal is to win the RMAC…Aspires to join the United States Military…Danny Dietz is his hero…Brother of Mitch and Grant…Enjoys fishing, hunting and training.
