2022 Outdoor (Sophomore): Redshirt season… Competed unattached in the two Maverick Invite meets… Ran the 1,500 meters in 4:06.58 at the first before posting a time of 4:11.69 in the second.
2021-22 Indoor (Redshirt Freshman): Competed in three meets, including the RMAC Championships… Won both the 5K and the distance medley relay at the Mountaineer Open & Multi to begin his season… Ran the 5K in 15:32.80 to rank third in RMAC history and qualify for the RMAC Championships, where he finished 12
th in 16:03.60… Ran the anchor 1,600-meter leg on the DMR team, which finished in 11:14.96… Set career-best times of 4:27.83 (mile) and 8:45.66 (3K) at the Don Kirby Open & Elite… Ranks fourth in program history for the 3K and ninth in the mile with those times.
2021 Outdoor (Freshman): Competed at four meets, including all three home meets and the RMAC Championships… Posted a career-best time of 15:20.10 in the 5,000 meters at the Maverick Open to rank sixth in program history… Qualified for the RMAC Championships in that discipline, finishing 20
th in 16:06.44… Also ran the 1,500 meters on two occasions, posting a best of 4:13.10 at the Maverick Open… Also ran on the Mavs’ “C” 4x400-meter relay team at that meet.
2021 Indoor (Freshman): Ran the 5,000 meters at three meets, including the RMAC Championships… Had a season-best time of 15:34.17 at the CRC UCCS Open… That time ranks fourth in program history… Placed 14
th at the conference meet with a time of 16:02.23.
Prep: Finished sixth at the 4A Region 2 Championships during his 2019 senior cross country season… Helped his Chuck Schwartz coached Air Academy HS Kadets to the team title… Went on to finish 81st at the state meet as the team took fourth… Finished 129th at the Nike Cross Nationals… Had finished eighth at the Pikes Peak Athletic Conference Championships, one of his four top-10 finishes as a senior… Finished 12th at regionals, 44th at state and 27th at the Nike regional as a junior in 2018… Set indoor track PRs of 4:47.25 (mile) and 8:55.95 (3K) during the 2020 season… Qualified for the state in the 3,200 as a junior in 2019… Had outdoor PRs of 2:14.82 (800), 4:45.95 (1600) and 9:53.59 (3200)... Was a member of the ASL Honor Society and earned a Les Schwab Academic Team Award.
Personal: Is majoring in secondary education and aspires to become a high school teacher and distance coach.. Son of Pamela and Gary Abbs… Younger brother is Braden… Enjoys playing video games, outdoor activities and chess.
