Overall Career Honors

• Second Team All-RMAC (2022 - XC)

As a Redshirt Sophomore (2022): Competed in all five of the Mavs’ full team meets in his best season to date… Recorded two top-10 finishes early in the season before earning Second Team All-RMAC honors with a  25^th place finish at the RMAC Championships… Went on to finish 39^th at the South Central Regional Championships… Was amongst the Mavs’ top three in all five meets… Led the team while taking second at the Mountaineer/Cowboy Invite to begin the season before running to an 8K PR time of 24:31.2 to finish eighth overall and second on the team… Finished 47^th at the NCAA D2 Pre-Nationals… Was the Mavs’ second finisher at the conference meet and the third at the regional, where he set a 10K PR time of 32:29.8.

As a Redshirt Freshman (2021): Competed in five of the team’s six meets, including both championship meets… Finished 29^th at the RMAC Championships as the team’s No. 3 finisher, missing all-conference honors by just one place… Had an 8K career best time of 26:14.9 at that meet… Set a 10K career-best of 32:56.8 to finish 90^th at the NCAA Division II South Central Regionals… Was the team’s fifth finisher… Had recorded a pair of top-20 finishes early in the season, placing 15^th at the UCCS Rust Buster before taking a season and career-best 12^th at the Gig Leadbetter Maverick Stampede, CMU’s home meet… Was the team’s third finisher in each of those as well.

As a Freshman (2020): Ran in three meets, including the RMAC Championships... Set an 8K PR of 26:51.5 to finish 56th at the conference meet... Was the team's No. 6 runner... Finished 21st at the Mountaineer/Cowboy Invite to start his collegiate career before finishing 55th at the Maverick Invitational.

Prep: Finished sixth at the 4A Region 2 Championships during his 2019 senior cross country season… Helped his Chuck Schwartz coached Air Academy HS Kadets to the team title… Went on to finish 81st at the state meet as the team took fourth… Finished 129th at the Nike Cross Nationals… Had finished eighth at the Pikes Peak Athletic Conference Championships, one of his four top-10 finishes as a senior… Finished 12th at regionals, 44th at state and 27th at the Nike regional as a junior in 2018… Set indoor track PRs of 4:47.25 (mile) and 8:55.95 (3K) during the 2020 season… Qualified for the state in the 3,200 as a junior in 2019… Had outdoor PRs of 2:14.82 (800), 4:45.95 (1600) and 9:53.59 (3200)... Was a member of the ASL Honor Society and earned a Les Schwab Academic Team Award.
 
Personal: Is majoring in secondary education and aspires to become a high school teacher and distance coach.. Son of Pamela and Gary Abbs… Younger brother is Braden… Enjoys playing video games, outdoor activities and chess.
 
Why I Chose CMU: “I chose CMU because of the atmosphere of the college, the camaraderie of the team team and wanting to stay in Colorado for college.
