2022 (As a Graduate Transfer at CMU): Earned First Team All-RMAC honors at the face-off position after helping the Mavs to a NCAA Division II Team Statistical Title with a .728 percentage… Played his fifth and final collegiate season alongside his younger brothers Jed and JJ... Won 105 of his 135 attempts, good for a .778 percentage, which led the conference… Was not eligible for the NCAA individual statistical rankings, which require a player to take 40 percent of his team’s draws… Was second in the RMAC behind teammate and fellow face-off star Dylan Checketts with 67 ground balls… Was third in the RMAC with his 3.94 per game average… Had 15 ground balls and went 15-for-16 at the “X” in a Apr. 9 win over CSU Pueblo… Also had his lone assist in that game against the ThunderWolves… Went 17-for-19 on faceoffs while scooping up 14 ground balls in a Feb. 14 win at Coker… Was named as the Mar. 7 and Apr. 11 RMAC Defensive Player of the Week… Scored a goal on Mar. 25 at Flagler… Took nine shots throughout the season, five of which were on goal… Was guilty of just one turnover throughout the season.
Before CMU: Was a 4-year standout for the NCAA Division III Hampden-Sydney College Tigers of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference… Racked up 435 career ground balls, third most in program history, while winning 618 out of 944 career face-offs (.655)… Set the ODAC record for ground balls in a game (24) against Shenandoah as a senior (Apr. 24).
As a Senior (2021) at Hampden-Sydney: Earned First Team All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference, first team all-state, IMCLA First Team All-Region and USILA Honorable Mention All-America honors for the Tigers… Was 195-for-289 on face-off attempts, good for a .675 percentage, to lead the ODAC… Also led the conference while ranking ninth in Division III for ground balls per game (10.85), claiming 141 in total, the fourth highest single-season total in the Tigers’ history… Played in 13 games, scoring four goals while assisting on six others..
2020 (Junior): Played in started all six games at face-off ... Scored one goal and had one assist during the pandemic-abbreviated season ... Finished with 76 ground balls and was 95 for 142 (.669) in face-offs ... Was ranked second in the ODAC and eighth nationally for ground balls (12.67/game)… Was named to Inside Lacrosse Div. III All-American team as an honorable mention.
2019 (Sophomore): Played in 19 games for the Tigers, starting every game at faceoff … Finished the season with six goals, two assists and 164 ground balls, the second highest total in program history … Was 237 of 364 (.651) on faceoffs ... Second Team All-ODAC ... VaSID All-State Second Team Faceoff.
2018 (Freshman): Played in 18 games … Finished 91 of 149 (.611) on faceoffs and with 54 ground balls.
High School: 2017 graduate of Gilman High School in Baltimore, Maryland … 2015 All-MIAA wrestler… 2016 wrestling team captain.
Personal: Son of Rodger and Barbara Brummett… Has two younger brothers, Jed and JJ, who are both on the Maverick squad… Pursuing a master’s degree in business administration after graduating from Hampden-Sydney College in 2021… Wants to own his own business… Enjoys playing chess and hiking.
Why I Chose CMU: “I had the opportunity to play my last year of lacrosse with both of my younger brothers.”
