MONTROSE, Colo.— Colorado Mesa University's Henry Starr shared the individual win while leading the Maverick men's golf team to a strong second place team finish at the San Juan Intercollegiate presented by Timberline Bank, which wrapped up Tuesday here at The Bridges Golf & Country Club.
 
Starr fired a third round score of 4-under par 67 on the 7,017-yard, par-71 course as he and Colorado Christian's Bradley Mulder both finished the 54-hole, 2-day tournament at 12 under par 201.
 
Meanwhile, Maverick senior Dylan Everett signed for a 6-under par round of 65, the best of the day, and moved up to finish fourth and just two shots behind Mulder and Starr at 10-under par 203.
 
The Mavericks' also had a third player in the top ten as junior transfer Will Alexander tied for ninth at 207 (-6) as the top player on the Mavs' "B" squad that finished 11^th out of the 13 teams and first of the three "B" squads at 861 (+9).
 
The primary team posted a final round score of 274 (-10), the best of the day and tied for the program's seventh best of all time.  They finished the tournament at 831 (-21), a 54-hole score which is tied for their third best in program history.
 
Colorado Christian won the tournament with a score of 817 (-35).
 
The Mavericks finished four shots ahead of CSU Pueblo and nine clear of the Colorado School of Mines and Western New Mexico, who tied for fourth at 840 (-12).
 
Baptiste Laborde and Luke Wagstaff both posted even par round of 71 on Monday.  Laborde finished in a tie for 30^th overall with a 1-over par total of 214.  Wagstaff tied for 48^th at +5 (218).
 
Maverick freshman Colby Hutton recorded a 73 (+2) on Tuesday, which was not counted towards the team score.  He finished in a tie for 37^th at +2 (215).
 
The Mavericks will continue their fall season in the Mexican resort town of Akumal, Quintana Roo on Sunday competing in the Shootout at PGA Riviera Maya.
