COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference announced their weekly baseball award winners on Tuesday (Mar. 17) afternoon. Colorado Mesa's
Caleb Ruter was named the RMAC Pitcher of the Week after his outing against CSU Pueblo last Friday at Rawlings Field.
Ruter had his best outing of the year pitching a complete game, five-hit shutout over rival CSU Pueblo in the series opener last Friday. Ruter threw just 80 pitches in his seven innings of work and struck out four batters with the Pack hitters hitting just .208 off him.
The senior retired the first eight batters he faced to earn his second win of the season.
The Arvada, Colo. native is the third pitcher to earn the honor and joins mound mates
Jackson Eisenhauer and
Justin Schramm as RMAC Pitcher of the Week award winners.
Ruter and the Mavericks will be on the road for the second straight week as they head to Lakewood for a four game series with Colorado Christian beginning Friday from All-Star Park.
