GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.— The NCAA Division I Utah Tech Trailblazers overpowered the Division II Colorado Mesa University Mavericks, 7-0 in a women's tennis match on Friday afternoon here at the Elliott Tennis Center.
The Trailblazers won all three doubles matches and took all six singles matches plus an exhibition matches in straight sets. They are now 4-7 on the season.
The Mavericks, playing at home for the first time this season, fell to 6-6. Three of their losses have come to Division I foes.

Catalina Ballon fared the best and was leading the first set of her No. 5 singles tilt against Cameron Hendrix, before the Trailblazer freshman came back to take the opening set in a tie-breaker, 7-2, before dominating the second set, 6-1.

Delia Maier also put up the biggest fight before dropping their second flight match-up, 6-3 to Maya Inouye and Nutsa Tsintsadze.
The Trailblazers won the other two doubles matches, 6-1.
Elsewhere in singles,
Jade Brilhante battled to the end in a 6-1, 7-5 defeat to Inouye at No. 3 while
Devyn Rodriguez lost a narrow 6-4, 6-4 decision to Mariana Zurita Berdecio in the top flight.
Both teams will play again here on Saturday against NCAA Division III Colorado College. The Trailblazers and Tigers will match-up at 9:30 a.m. while the CMU men play CC at the same time. CMU's women will then take on the Tigers at 2:30 p.m.
In between at 1:15, the Mavs will recognize tennis alumni who have returned to campus for a reunion weekend, as well as their four departing players during a Senior Day presentation.
