DENVER — Colorado Mesa University's
Kylie Hoffman received the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference's Summit Award for women's soccer on Wednesday prior to kick-off of the Mavericks' RMAC Tournament semifinal at and against Regis University.
The senior mass communications major from Westminster, Colorado has a 4.00 grade point average.
On the field, she has played and started 16 of the Mavericks' games this year as a key cog in the CMU defense, which has posted ten shutouts.
The Summit Award goes to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative GPA who is competing at the finals site of their sport's RMAC championship. Winners must have competed in at least 20 percent of their team's games during the season, be a sophomore or above and have competed at the institution for at least two years. They must be active members of their team at the RMAC championship event.
All GPAs are based on a straight grading scale to ensure consistency among the nominees. Ties are broken by the total number of credit hours completed through the most recently concluded semester.
Hoffman is the second Maverick women's soccer student-athlete to have received the award, first bestowed in 2012. Mira Houck last won it for CMU in 2023.
