Mavs once again win CSCAA Academic Awards

CMU women have earned the honor for 25 straight semesters

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.— The Colorado Mesa University men's and women's swimming and diving squads have both been recognized for their continued academic strength as each were named CSCAA (College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America) Scholar All-America Teams for the recently completed 2025 fall semester, it was announced by the organization on Tuesday.

The Maverick women have achieved the honor in each of the last 25 semesters dating back to the fall of 2013.  The Maverick men have now been selected in 17 out of the last 18 semesters.
 
The Maverick women earned the honor after posting a team GPA of 3.68 during the semester. The men had had a GPA of 3.40.

A total of 709 programs from 414 institutions earned the honor, which required CSCAA member programs to have a 3.00 or higher team GPA during the semester.  These teams, representing a total of 16,421 student-athletes, were chosen based on their outstanding academic performance during the semester.

"The academic commitment demonstrated by these teams is exceptional," said Samantha Barany, Executive Director of the CSCAA. "These student-athletes continue to set a standard for excellence by succeeding at the highest level both in the pool and in the classroom, and the CSCAA is proud to recognize their dedication and achievement."
