COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.— After helping the Mavericks to a 2-0 start in conference play, Colorado Mesa University senior outside hitter
Sadie Scoville was named as the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference's Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday afternoon.
Scoville is the first Maverick volleyball player to earn a conference player of the week award this season, but has now been personally been recognized for her play on all three weekends of the season to date. The Pleasant Grove, Utah native had been named to the all-tournament team after both of CMU's non-conference tournaments as well.
Scoville led the Mavericks on the opening weekend of RMAC play, recording 30 kills while adding 24 digs on .314 hitting.
She set season-highs for both kills (19) and digs (18) while registering her third double-double of the season in Friday's 5-set thriller at Adams State. She then added 11 kills and hit .435 in Saturday night's 3-set sweep of New Mexico Highlands University.
Scoville leads the Mavs with 93 kills and 81 digs this season.
The Mavericks have a 6-3 overall and are now tied for 24
th in Monday's AVCA/TARAFLEX NCAA Division II Coaches Poll. The Mavs have now been inside the nation's top 25 for 45 straight weeks dating back to 2022.
CMU will play its first home matches of the season this weekend, hosting No. 5 MSU Denver (8-1, 1-0 RMAC) on Friday night at 6 p.m. in Brownson Arena before taking on UCCS, which is off to its best start in program history at 9-0, on Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock. The Mountain Lions, who are also 1-0 in the RMAC, are receiving votes in this week's national poll.
