DENVER, Colo. – As a part of the festivities of Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Football Media Day, the conference released the preseason coach's poll and preseason All-RMAC team at the CAVEA Theatre on the campus of MSU Denver.
 
The Mavericks are predicted to finish in fourth place with 58 points after going 7-4 last season. Coaches were asked to rank each team one through nine and they could not vote for their own team
 
Colorado Mesa received four votes to finish in third place from the coaches.
 
CSU Pueblo and Western Colorado tied for the preseason favorite spot in the poll as each earned 76 points and both earned five first-place votes, three second-place votes, and a third-place vote. Colorado School of Mines was picked third with 66 points on four second-place votes and four third-place votes.
 
South Dakota Mines and Black Hills State were tied for fifth with 43 points followed by Chadron State and New Mexico Highlands tied for seventh with 31 points. Fort Lewis was ninth with 17 points while Adams State was picked tenth with nine points.
 
Senior Swiss Army Knife Kash Bradley was the lone Maverick named to the Preseason All-RMAC team as a kick returner and punt returner. Bradley averaged 26.3 yards per kick return and 11.6 yards per punt return during the season, both of which led the conference. Bradley also starred on the defensive side of the ball where he started at defensive back finishing the season with 37 tackles, nine passes defended and an interception.
 
Colorado Mesa will open the season on the road against Central Washington on August 28 at 2:00pm mountain time. The matchup is being deemed the Rodeo Bowl as a part of the start of the Ellensburg Rodeo.
