DENVER, Colo. – The Colorado Mesa baseball team could only come up with four hits and fell in their Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference opener, and game one of the four game series, to MSU Denver 12-0 on Saturday (Mar. 9) afternoon.
Max Valdez,
Braden Winget,
Joey Blank and
Kennedy Hara were the four Mavericks that reached base by way of a hit.
The Mavericks best opportunity to get things going came in the fourth inning when Valdez and Winget had back-to-back singles with two outs but the Roadrunners were able to induce a fly ball out to retire the side.
Kyle Miller earned the loss on the mound and dropped to 1-1 on the season.
The two teams will continue the series tomorrow with a doubleheader beginning at 12pm from the Assembly Athletic Complex.
