GREENSBORO, N.C. – The American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) announced their National Player and Pitcher of the Year for every level on Monday (Jun. 26) morning. Colorado Mesa's
Julian Boyd was named the NCAA Division II National Player of the Year by the ABCA.
This marks the third straight year that Colorado Mesa has had the ABCA National Player of the Year and the fourth time overall a Maverick has earned the honor.
Haydn McGeary won the honor in 2021 and 2022 while Austin Kaiser won the honor in 2014.
He batted .436 with 24 doubles, six triples, 10 home runs and 57 runs driven in and set the Colorado Mesa single season stolen base record with 38 this season. Boyd earned
RMAC Co-Player of the Year and finished among the nation's leaders in batting average and stolen bases while becoming just the second Maverick to accomplish the 10 home run/20 double/30 stolen base feat joining 2014
ABCA National Player of the Year Austin Kaiser.
Boyd led the Mavericks to the NCAA South Central Super Regional after winning the RMAC Regular Season and Tournament titles.
Angelo State's Kade Bragg was named the ABCA NCAA Division II National Pitcher of the Year.
