COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference announced their yearly Man and Woman of the Year Awards on Monday (June 19) afternoon. Colorado Mesa's
Harrison Rodgers was named the RMAC Man of the Year for his work in the classroom, on the field, and in the community.
Rodgers led the Maverick baseball program to a season sweep of both the RMAC regular season and tournament titles this spring. The San Diego native landed RMAC Co-Player of the Year, Academic Player of the Year, All-South Central Region, and D2CCA All-American honors. He helped lead the Mavericks to a No. 1 National Ranking and a spot in the NCAA South Central Super Regional Tournament.
Harrison has spent time in the community with the local chapter of Fellowship of Christian Athletes, organized and helped out with local youth baseball practices, and spent time giving back to the homeless population in Grand Junction. He also served as the Public Address Announcer at Colorado Mesa Basketball games and served as the play-by-play voice on select men's and women's soccer matches.
This is the first time Colorado Mesa has had a student-athlete selected for the RMAC Man or Woman of the Year.
UCCS' Audrey Bloomquist was named the RMAC Woman of the Year. Maverick standout swimmer Lily Borgenheimer was nominated for the award.
