GOLDEN, Colo.— Josie Coffey and
Kiana Jackson both recorded season-best jumps to clinch NCAA Division II Championship qualification spots while
Eddie Kurjak added a personal-best high jump mark on a fine day of jumping for a group of Colorado Mesa University track and field athletes on Sunday during the Mines Last Chance meet.
Coffey cleared 1.75 meters (5 feet, 8 ¾ inches) and moved into a tie for fifth on the national performance list assuring her a spot in the NCAA Division II National Championships later this month in Pueblo. Coffey's previous season best was 1.72 meters (5-7.75), good for a tie for 12

Meanwhile, Jackson had a superb triple jump mark of 12.36 meters (40-6.75) as she moved up all the way to 13
th on the national list with her mark, just a single centimeter off her own school-record. Jackson's previous best of the season was 11.99 meters (39-4), good for just a tie for 40

Both were event winners as well.

Justin Thompson also won the long jump with a leap of 7.23 meters (23-8.75), but will likely miss out on selection for the NCAA Championships. He is tied for 29
