SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Colorado Mesa women's basketball team was out scored in the final three quarters of action in a 63-53 setback to the Westminster Griffins in Behnken Field House during midweek Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference action.

The Mavericks took an early 19-13 lead after the first quarter after shooting over 53 percent from the field and making three of their four three-point attempts. Colorado Mesa led by as many as 10 in the quarter at 17-7 with 2:31 to play in the quarter after a made jumper from
Jamisyn Heaton.

Turning the page to the second quarter was a different story as Colorado Mesa would end the half with 10 first half turnovers and shot 40 percent less than the first quarter to give Westminster a 33-25 lead at the break.

Trailing by nine entering the fourth quarter, the Mavericks went on a flurry with two minutes to play and cut the lead to just five with 1:52 to play as
Kylie Kravig stole the inbounds play and dished to
Jamisyn Heaton for the easy bucket. The bucket capped an 11-0 run.

That was all the closer they would get though.

Olivia Reed finished with a team-high 15 points and pulled in eight rebounds. She was 6-for-11 shooting in the game and upped her blocks average as she came away with two credited swats.

Monica Brooks added seven points and pulled down 10 rebounds.

Colorado Mesa will be back in action on Saturday as they host Western Colorado at 5:30pm in Brownson Arena.
